School Meals

Every day all children have the opportunity to have a hot, nutritious, freshly prepared meal in a social setting.

Lunch choices are made by children in classes each morning and online payment via SCOpay is required in advance of meals being taken.

School meals are free for all children in Year R to Year 2. From Year 3 to Year 6 school lunch costs £3 per day which is payable through the school online payment system. Your child may be eligible for free school meals if their parent or carer receives one or more benefits.

Our school lunches are provided by the specialist catering company ABM.

In 2023 we undertook an extensive search to select a catering company to provide our school meals. The input of parents and carers was welcomed from the start and throughout the process. Invaluable feedback and suggestions guided the process and, as a result, we secured the following commitments from ABM:

  • Expanded Daily Choices: Children will enjoy a broader selection of meals, including a delightful deli sandwich option, a new hydration station, and a fresh salad bar for a variety of daily choices.
  • Generous Portions for Key Stage 2: Key Stage 2 meals will now feature larger portion sizes, along with additional access to the salad bar and fresh bread daily.
  • Enhanced Quality: ABM is committed to using higher quality fresh produce, ensuring superior meat and egg products in our meals.
  • Reduced Refined Sugar: ABM is dedicated to minimising refined sugar content in sauces and dessert options across the menu.

Governors and Leadership are confident that these enhancements will contribute to an even more enjoyable and nutritious dining experience for our students.

Packed lunches

Any child can choose to bring a packed lunch from home. We ask that packed lunches do not include any fizzy drinks or confectionary.

Allergies and Special Diets

ABM can provide special diets for pupils with allergies and intolerances who still want to have a school meal. Special diets are provided for pupils with a medical problem, and they will require medical evidence confirming your child’s allergy.
